Encierro
Third EncierroUpdated event: 9/7/2009 a las 08:26 horas
Today's herd of bulls, from Toledo, finished the route in a very fast two minutes and twenty seconds. There were no serious injuries, however, as usual, there were some moments of tension as the bulls flew threw the cobble stone streets of Pamplona.
The bulls, from the ranch El Ventorrillo in Toledo, completed the third run of San Fermin 2009, the fasts so far during this year's festival. Throughout the race the bulls remained tightly packed together, a characteristic of a very good, efficient run.
A black Burraco, the largest of the herd, careened halfway up the slope of Santo Domingo and quickly reached his brothers, going through the plaza of the City Council without further incidents.
At the famous curve just before Estafeta Street, a young man took the inside of the curve, trapped between the wall and the bulls, however the bulls did not slip. He very luckily ran around the curve without incident.
Arriving at Telefonica, the end of the long, straight stretch of calle Estafeta, the bulls separated slightly and several young men fell, causing one of the steers to leap over them. There were few light injuries, however today's run, like the last two, was relatively very fast and clean. Tomorrow's run is with bulls from the ranch of Jandilla, Badajoz.
